The Super Eagles were defeated by the Ghana Black Stars by away goals earlier this evening at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, resulting in their elimination from the 2022 World Cup.
Following the loss, a viral video shows a large number of people vandalizing the stadium—fans can be seen flocking to the pitch and trashing some of the amenities.
The Super Eagles had over 60% possession and had over 14 shots, with a few on target, but this was not enough to give them the gratification they desired at the start of the game.
The game concluded in a draw, but Ghana's Black Stars won because the first leg of the match was goalless at the Black Stars' home.
