Ralf Rangnick, the manager of Manchester United, has explained why the Red Devils were defeated by Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The defeat has severely harmed United's prospects of finishing in the Premier League's top four this season.

Everton's Anthony Gordon scored the game's first goal in the 27th minute, and United struggled to make an impact.

Jordan Pickford, Everton's goalkeeper, also made a superb late save to deny Cristiano Ronaldo what would have been a merited equalizer.

"We have to be disappointed if you don't score a single goal in 95 minutes," the former RB Leipzig coach told Sky Sports.
"We gave up a deflected shot and lost our cool a little."
"We tried to be more creative with changes in the second half, but we didn't always make the best decisions." In the last 35 minutes, they [Everton] were defending with their guys. We were unable to locate the appropriate player at the appropriate time. When we played crosses, we didn't have enough guys in the box. "
The German manager also put the setback down to his team's lack of physicality in front of the goal, claiming that Manchester United failed to penetrate inside the Everton box.
