As Thiago Silva prepares to depart Chelsea at the season's end, the club is eyeing Manchester United's 31-year-old defender Raphael Varane to strengthen their defense.

Silva, who announced his upcoming exit in a heartfelt video released a few weeks ago, will leave a significant void in Chelsea's backline. The 39-year-old Brazilian has been a defensive cornerstone, contributing to their UEFA Champions League triumph and making 154 appearances.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea has pinpointed Varane as a top transfer target for the summer. The French defender is viewed as an ideal replacement for Silva, offering experience and stability. However, Chelsea will face stiff competition for Varane, with Juventus and Al-Nassr also keen on securing the former Real Madrid star.
