Before the transfer window closes today, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, wants to bring Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa to the Emirates.

Thomas Partey and Mohammed Elneny's injuries have forced the Spaniard to add another player.

Currently, Arsenal is making a serious effort to acquire Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz.

“Not an easy deal at all — but Arsenal are trying with agents working on it.

“Player understood to be keen on the move—up to the clubs,” transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Thursday.

Speaking after the 2-1 win over Villa yesterday, a game in which Luiz scored for the visitors, Arteta said: “Obviously [Mo’s injury] has an impact because Thomas Partey is injured, and we are a bit short in that position." We do have Albert Sambi Lokonga and Granit Xhaka who can play there.

“We are just looking at options in the market." As I said, the club has been super supportive in trying to keep improving the squad and the team as we can, and if the right player is available and we can do it, we will try. "
