Teddy Sheringham, a former player for Manchester United, has stated that forward Cristiano Ronaldo ought to have left Old Trafford before the season began.
Sheringham believed that keeping Ronaldo against his wishes would be disastrous.
Ronaldo was heavily rumored to be leaving Manchester United before the 2022–2023 season, but the transfer never happened.
The Portugal captain, who has received criticism for his behavior so far this season, has struggled to score goals for the Red Devils.
The 37-year-old was recently suspended by manager Erik ten Hag after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham and storming down the tunnel before the end of the match.
When asked whether or not Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United was up, Sheringham told OLBG: “Ronaldo should have moved on at the start of the season when he made it clear that he wanted to leave."
“It is not ideal to have an unhappy superstar in your camp." "If Ronaldo isn’t 100% committed to the cause, it isn’t good for the rest of the squad, no matter the player.”
