Tragedy struck in the Lantoro area of Abeokuta as 22-year-old Razak Jimoh was brutally attacked and killed by unidentified gunmen.

Reports indicate that two masked assailants pursued Jimoh, who tried to escape by running into a nearby residence. However, the attackers forcefully dragged him out to the corridor, inflicted an axe wound on his leg, and executed him with a gunshot to the head.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, Ogun State Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola revealed that the attack took place around 11 p.m. on Thursday. Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kemta Division swiftly mobilized detectives to the crime scene.

Jimoh’s body has been transported to the General Hospital for an autopsy as investigations continue.

Authorities suspect the killing may be linked to cult-related activities. Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered an immediate manhunt for the perpetrators, assuring the public that justice will be served.
