Following the harrowing incident that unfolded at a hotel in Yola, Adamawa State, a man has come forward to the police, claiming to be the ex-husband of a woman brutally killed on Thursday.
The chilling details reveal that a suspected ritual killer took the woman to Happy Day Guest Inn, beheaded her, and silently exited the premises with her severed head.
The discovery of the headless corpse was made by the hotel receptionist, who grew concerned after neither the woman nor the man who brought her was seen for an extended period. With no means of identification until Friday afternoon due to the missing face, the victim remained anonymous until the story broke.
The deceased, identified as Bilkisu Alhaji Idi, found a tragic connection to the man who reported to the Adamawa State Police Command. Her ex-husband, Auwal Garba, verified her identity and confirmed their marriage, which endured until last month when they officially divorced.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the State Police Public Relations Officer, provided updates on the case, indicating that Garba shared crucial information. According to Garba, the marriage with Bilkisu spanned approximately six years and bore a child. In a grim turn of events, the late Bilkisu allegedly contacted her ex-husband on the day of her death, expressing a desire to speak with their child.
As investigators delve deeper into this tragic incident, the community is left grappling with the horror of a life cut short and the unsettling circumstances surrounding the heinous crime.
