The federal government of Nigeria and the academic staff Union of universities has reached an agreement to end the ongoing nationwide strike by the Union.
The agreement to end the nationwide strike which has lasted for three months was signed on Tuesday in abuja by the two waring bodies.
The strike which the lecturers commenced last year as a result of the agreement reached with the federal government of Nigeria since 2009 which has not being implemented. The two bodies have met up to nine times since the strike started but still couldn't reach an agreement. According to the report, this is the tenth time they are having a meeting and we believe they have finally settled. Though as at the time of this report, the strike has not yet been called off by the Union.
