Ibrahim Magu, the former interim Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has been elevated by the Police Service Commission (PSC) (EFCC).
On Monday, May 16, PSC spokesman Ikechukwu Ani confirmed Magu's promotion to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
On Friday, May 13, the former EFCC acting Chairman was promoted to AIG alongside seven other police commissioners at the commission's 15th Plenary Meeting.
Acting Deputy Inspector General of Police John Ogbonnaya Amadi was promoted to substantive Deputy Inspector General of Police, while Zama Bala Senchi was promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police.
This is coming months after Magu was arrested, detained, and suspended as the acting chairman of the anti-graft agency after he appeared before a panel probing allegations of gross misconduct against him.
