Abdulafatai, who was well-regarded among his peers, tragically passed away after collapsing during a routine jog. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by the Student Union Government (SUG) President-Elect, Divine Prince Daniel, in a statement on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

"It is with deep sorrow that I share the news of our dear brother, Abdulafatai Abdulsalam, who sadly passed away today after collapsing during his regular jogging exercise," Divine Prince Daniel said.

The SUG President-Elect extended his heartfelt condolences to Abdulafatai's family, the Department of Mathematics, the School of Physical Sciences, and the entire student body. He offered prayers for Abdulafatai's peaceful repose, asking that Almighty Allah grant him Aljanat Firdous and give his loved ones the strength to endure this profound loss.
