Tragic news has emerged from Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State, as the Ogun State Police Command has confirmed a fatal shooting incident.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on Sunday when two gunmen approached a man lounging in front of his house and shot him dead.
The assailants, who arrived in an unregistered Toyota Corolla vehicle, swiftly fled the scene after carrying out the attack. Neighbors, alarmed by the sound of gunshots, promptly alerted the police, who responded swiftly to the distress call.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered the victim lying lifeless in a pool of blood. Despite efforts to save him, doctors at the State Hospital, Abeokuta, confirmed his demise. Subsequently, the body was transported to the hospital’s morgue for further examination through autopsy procedures.
