In a disturbing turn of events, the Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 33-year-old man, Ibrahim Abubakar, for the brutal stabbing death of his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu.
The tragic incident unfolded in Sabon Gari-Futy, located in the Girei local government area, where the suspect, a butcher by profession, allegedly attacked his wife, inflicting severe stab wounds on her back with a sharp knife. The vicious assault left the victim in a pool of blood, resulting in her untimely demise.
According to the State Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspect carried out the heinous act in the early hours of April 8, around 4:30 am, following a dispute over a phone, which escalated into a fatal altercation.
Upon receiving a report from the father of the deceased, law enforcement swiftly responded and conducted a preliminary investigation at the crime scene. Material evidence recovered during the inquiry implicated the suspect, leading to his arrest.
In a shocking development, the suspect admitted to the crime in a voluntary confession, expressing remorse for his actions and acknowledging the irreparable loss of the mother of their only child.
