The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully apprehended a suspected thief with a penchant for stealing goats in Pasali Konu village, situated in the Kagarko Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest, carried out by a surveillance team and vigilante members during a visibility patrol at the village, took place on Saturday, as confirmed by the command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mansur Hassan. Providing details, Hassan disclosed that the arrest occurred on November 11 around 0430hrs.
The 20-year-old suspect, a resident of Igwa village in Kagarko LGA, was found armed with dangerous weapons and wearing a facemask during the arrest. Hassan highlighted the suspect's specialization in goat theft and revealed that the individual confessed to being part of a duo that had entered the village with the intent to steal goats.
"When they sighted the patrol team, the other suspect ran away, but the Police, however, arrested the second suspect," Hassan stated.
The suspect at large is currently being pursued, and Hassan expressed confidence in locating and apprehending him soon. The police spokesperson affirmed that the captured suspect would undergo preliminary investigations before being charged in court.
