Yetunde Lawal, a final-year student at Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, was brutally murdered in a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community.

Authorities have arrested a suspect—reportedly the son of a well-known Muslim cleric from the Isalekoto community—who is currently in custody at the Ilorin police command headquarters.

Last Moments Before Disappearance

Yetunde was last seen on Monday, February 10, 2025, at a naming ceremony, where she abruptly left after receiving a phone call. Her father, Ibrahim Lawal, reported her missing the following day at the Oja-Oba Police Division in Ilorin.

Disturbing Investigation Findings

Police traced Yetunde’s last call to a location in the Offa Garage area of Ilorin. The suspect initially denied any involvement but later confessed that she had visited him and allegedly died from an asthma attack. However, further investigations revealed a horrifying truth—Yetunde's dismembered body was found hidden in a bowl, along with tools used in the gruesome act.

Dark Truth Behind the Murder

Reports suggest the suspect had met Yetunde on Facebook, lured her to his residence, and carried out the heinous crime. A search of his home uncovered a chilling setup—a table with tools believed to have been used for dismembering bodies, raising fears that he may have committed similar crimes before.

This tragic case has sparked outrage, with many calling for swift justice. Authorities continue to investigate, and the community awaits answers. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
