Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the unfortunate event, highlighting that the victim's body has been transferred to the morgue pending further investigation.

Hundeyin stated, "The corpse has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy and preservation. An investigation is ongoing."

According to reports, the incident transpired while a forklift was in the process of lifting armoured cable drums. Tragically, one of the cable drums disconnected and fell onto a passerby who was reportedly engrossed in his phone while walking. Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries en route.

The scene was swiftly attended to by detectives from the Ilemba-Hausa division, who initiated inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
