In a recent statement issued by Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) disclosed remarkable progress in the fight against terrorism across Nigeria.

According to Buba, troops executed coordinated operations resulting in the neutralization of 106 terrorists and the arrest of 103 others within a week.

The successful operations, carried out in collaboration with ground and air forces, targeted terrorist strongholds and hideouts, effectively dismantling their infrastructure. Additionally, troops apprehended 22 individuals involved in oil theft and rescued 96 kidnap victims, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to tackling security challenges.

In the course of these operations, a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition was seized, totaling 171 assorted firearms and 2,452 rounds of ammunition. The recovered arsenal included various firearms such as AK47 rifles, pump-action rifles, locally fabricated guns, pistols, and grenades, among others.

The inventory of seized items also encompassed a wide array of ammunition, magazines, vehicles, motorcycles, communication devices, and monetary assets. These achievements underscore the commitment and effectiveness of Nigerian security forces in safeguarding the nation and combating criminal elements threatening peace and stability.

The Defence Headquarters reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, pledging to sustain efforts towards eradicating terrorism and criminal activities across the country.
