The Kogi State Vigilante Service has successfully apprehended a notorious thief, Lamidi Amoto Lucky, in the Inorere Ogaminana community, located in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.



Suspect Caught in Early Morning Operation

According to reports, the Adavi Command team of the vigilante service arrested the suspect around 4:00 AM on January 27, 2025, during a well-executed operation.

Spokesperson S. O. Saka confirmed in a statement released in Lokoja on Friday, January 31, that Lucky was caught in possession of two Butterfly sewing machines, raising immediate suspicion of theft.

Suspect Confesses to Multiple Thefts

Following his arrest, Lamidi Amoto Lucky confessed to stealing the sewing machines from Ihima in Okehi LGA. Further investigations uncovered a string of thefts, revealing that he had also stolen:

  • One additional sewing machine
  • Itel A60 and Oppo Android phones
  • One gasoline grinding engine
  • One 3kg gas cylinder
  • Three 6-yard wrappers
  • Two cooking pots
  • Two bed sheets
  • Several shirts

All Stolen Items Recovered

Thanks to the swift action of the vigilante operatives, all stolen items were successfully recovered.

Handed Over to the Police

The suspect, along with the recovered exhibits, has been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Adavi Division, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
