Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President, has lost one of his aides.

Cyril Mudiagbe was shot dead by gunmen in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

He was better known as Cyril Makanaki, and he was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 6 in Sapele.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning at his residence in the Decima area.

A neighbour, identified as Eniagbe, said the gunmen shot the deceased through the window.

He revealed that "They were banging on his window and when he opened his window, he was shot in the chest."

Security operatives, including vigilantes, have commenced a manhunt for the assailants.

Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Delta, said he was yet to get details of the event.
