In a significant ruling by the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, Olusola Ebiseni has been disqualified as the Labour Party candidate for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, set to take place on Saturday, 16 November 2024.

The three-member panel, led by Justice Hamma Barka and with the lead judgment delivered by Justice Adebukola Banjoko, reached a unanimous decision.

Justice Banjoko announced, “The appeal marked CA/ABJ/CV/1172/2024 brought by the Labour Party against Chief Olusola Ebiseni and two others is allowed.” This judgment effectively disqualified Ebiseni from participating in the race as the party's candidate.

Adding to the ruling, Justice Banjoko noted that the Certified True Copy of the judgment would soon be provided to all involved parties for a thorough review. Justice Abba Mohammed affirmed the decision in a supportive judgment, aligning with his fellow justices’ standpoint.

It will be recalled that Peter Obi, the party leader, was in Akure some days ago to campaign for Olusola.
