President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of three new Executive Commissioners to join the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
Additionally, there has been a reassignment of one existing Executive Commissioner, pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
This was disclosed through the Special Adviser to the President, Chief Ajuri Ngelale yesterday evening in a press release.
The new appointees are:
(1) Mr. Bashir Indabawa — NW — Appointed as the Executive Commissioner for Exploration & Acreage Management.
(2) Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu — SE — Reassigned as the Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services & Administration.
(3) Mr. Enorense Amadasu — SS — Appointed as the Executive Commissioner for Development & Production.
(4) Mr. Babajide Fasina — SW — Appointed as the Executive Commissioner for Economic Regulation & Strategic Planning.
The President has authorized these changes based on a comprehensive evaluation of all relevant factors within the sector. The goal is to establish a regulatory framework and culture that strongly discourages misconduct while promoting diligence and adherence to rules in the industry.
