President Bola Tinubu has made significant appointments within the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), both falling under the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
The announcement came through a statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
In the NPA, Tinubu has appointed Vivian Edet as Executive Director, Finance and Administration; Olalekan Badmus as Executive Director, Marine and Operations; and Ibrahim Umar as Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services. Similarly, for NIMASA, Jibril Abba is named Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services; Mr. Chudi Offodile is the new Executive Director, Finance and Administration; and Fatai Adeyemi takes on the role of Executive Director, Operations.
Ngelale emphasized that the President's approval of these appointments reflects his confidence in the ability of the new executives to efficiently fulfill their collective mandate. This mandate revolves around creating conditions that will significantly elevate the Marine and Blue Economy sector's contribution to the nation's GDP. President Tinubu envisions a transformation of the Nigerian economy into one that is labor-intensive and inclusive, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda. This transformation is expected to generate new opportunities for all Nigerians, guided by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
