Flamingos forward, Opeyemi Ajakaye, scooped the Player of the Match award following the side’s 4-0 win against New Zealand at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Friday.

Though she didn’t register a goal or assist in the game, Ajakaye put up a spectacular display all through.

Bankole Olowookere’s side scored twice in the first half through Amiinat Bello and Miracle Usani.

Taiwo Tewogboola and Etim Edidiong added two more goals late in the second half.

The Flamingos lost their first game in the competition 2-0 to Germany.

The Nigerian girls will take on Chile in their final group game next Monday.
