Barcelona Women have announced the signing of England international Lucy Bronze on a two-year contract following her departure from Manchester City as a free agent.
The Catalan club announced the signing on Saturday with a photoshopped picture of Bronze in a Barcelona shirt looking over the Nou Camp along with the caption: “Welcome to your new home.”
Bronze, 30 years old, will represent England at this summer’s European Championship before linking up with her new Barcelona teammates.
Barcelona Women won a domestic treble last season by winning all 30 of their league games, as well as all their cup ties in the Copa de la Reina and Supercopa de Espana.
They scored a staggering 159 goals in the league last season and conceded just 11.
The right-back, who has been capped 88 times by England, had two spells at Manchester City.
Bronze originally joined the club from Liverpool in 2014.
She then experienced playing abroad with Lyon for three years before returning to Manchester City in 2020.
Bronze won five trophies across two spells at the City.
