Victor Boniface has received congratulations from Bayer Leverkusen for receiving his first call from the Nigerian national team.
The forward was named on Sunday in the Super Eagles squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
The 22-year-old earned his invitation on the back of his impressive displays at club level.
Boniface was the joint-top scorer in the UEFA Europa League last season.
The striker started the new season on an impressive note, netting four times in three league appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.
The club took to social media to congratulate the player on his call-up.
