Luke Harris, a midfielder for Fulham, is the target of a plot by Chelsea to sign him in the upcoming January transfer window.
The west London club is prepared to make a record offer of up to £30 million in order to strengthen the team under manager Graham Potter.
Harris has captured Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly's attention after scoring a hat-trick against the Blues at youth level earlier this season. Harris is currently a member of Wales' squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League match against Poland on Saturday.
Harris is viewed as a future superstar at Craven Cottage and is poised to follow in the footsteps of former Fulham young players Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott, who later went on to wow manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Chelsea have already staged advanced talks with Fulham in a bid to lure the 17-year-old starlet to Stamford Bridge in January, according to the Mirror.
The report added that a deal worth an initial £25m is on the table, with further payments rising to £30m.
Harris signed his first professional contract with Fulham earlier this month and he is under contract until 2025.
