Former Super Eagles attacker Victor Ikpeba has told Chelsea manager Graham Potter that he must win the Champions League to avoid the Blues co-owner, Todd Boehly, sacking him this year.

Ikpeba said this while speaking on the possibility of Boehly sacking Potter this year.

Recall that there were calls for Boehly to sack Potter in February following Chelsea’s poor form in the Premier League.

Potter’s side is out of the race for the Premier League title this season as they currently sit in 10th position on the log with 11 points behind 4th-place Tottenham Hotspur.

“He [Graham Potter] will remain as manager of Chelsea if they win the Champions League,” Ikpeba said on SuperSport’s Monday Night Football.
“The damage had been done when Thomas Tuchel was sacked at the beginning of the season.
“With the transfers, bringing in a manager and players hasn’t helped the club. That is why you need time with these new players.
He added, “Chelsea has missed the services of N’Golo Kante, who wins a lot of the balls in the middle of the park."
“I had a lot of sympathy for Potter, but the truth of the matter is that a lot of damage was done at the beginning of the season."
“I am not sure if Potter would remain as their manager, but if Chelsea wins the Champions League, Potter should stay.”
