Manchester United legend Gary Neville has given his verdict on England’s 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal tie against France.
Neville believes England’s World Cup last-8 match against France is "a game of a lifetime” and feels defender Kyle Walker is the perfect man to match up with forward Kylian Mbappe.
England will face France, the defending champions, in the World Cup quarterfinal on Saturday.
The Three Lions head to the game after beating Senegal 3-0 in the last 16 over the weekend, while France defeated Poland 3-1.
“It is a game of a lifetime on Saturday,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“England vs France on a Saturday night at a World Cup quarter-final, they don’t come around in your life very often. They’re big moments. I can’t wait.
“This is a game we can lose." We know that they’re world champions and a fantastic team.
“If you lose on Saturday, unless it is a shambles, which it won’t be, you’re going to come out of the tournament with a par." Going out in the second round is a bogey, the semi-finals are a birdie, and the final is an eagle. "And winning it will be an albatross.”
