Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, has knocked down suggestions that Mohamed Salah is likely to sign a long-term contract with the club.
Klopp emphasized that talks were still underway ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal first-leg encounter at Benfica.
Salah is reportedly close to agreeing to a contract that will see him conclude his career at Anfield.
The Egyptian's current deal expires in June 2023, and the 29-year-old has previously stated that he wants to continue at Liverpool beyond that date, but that his future "is not in my hands."
"I'm happy with it since there's nothing new to tell," Klopp said at a press conference on Monday when asked about the situation.
"It's fantastic." All I need is for the decisive parties to talk to each other."
