The comparison between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi hasn't been put to rest.

Although none of the two most prolific footballer was given the best footballer award this year, which many still questions.

Luca Modric swept all the awards, from FIFA best player to Balon D'or. Unargualby both Messi and Ronaldo are fantastic this season again, even after Ronaldo's move to juventus, they have set and broken record this year again.

Comparing their performance in 2018 Messi took the lead, although Ronaldo had two goals in his last game against Samdoria yesterday but still didn't match up to what Messi had in assist and goals. Also, Ronaldo was not able to match his 50goals streak yearly performance which he has been keeping since 2013. This year Messi finished the year with 54goals while Ronaldo finished with 49 goals.
