Former Brazil international Neto has named Neymar as the best spot-kick taker in the world.
He said this while lambasting manager Tite for saving the Paris Saint-Germain star to take the final kick during Brazil’s shock defeat to Croatia in the World Cup quarterfinal on Friday.
Tite has already left his job as South American manager after the 4-2 defeat on penalties that killed every hope of them winning the World Cup this year.
Brazil was heavily tipped to clinch the title in Qatar but now has to wait another four years, which would be against the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
With the game ending 0-0 in normal time, both sides waited until extra time to score.
Brazil was in front in the first half of extra time when Neymar played a fabulous one-two with Paqueta before dancing around Livakovic and firing home from close range.
But Croatia responded in the dying minutes, with Petkovic’s deflected strike, his side’s only shot on target, finishing off a slick counter-attack.
The match ended in a penalty shootout and Croatia emerged victorious beating Brazil 4-2 on penalties
“It’s Tite’s fault,” Neto said on ESPN. “Neymar failed to take the penalty! You are the greatest penalty taker in the world, you shameless man.
“You are the worst coach in the history of the country, of the Brazilian national team, and a disgrace as a coach.”
