Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, has provided his honest assessment of VAR's decision to overturn a goal that his team scored at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

On Sunday, Manchester United defeated Arsenal 3-1 in a Premier League match, despite the fact that Gabriel Martinelli appeared to have given Arsenal the lead.

After a VAR review, it was determined that Odegaard had fouled Man United midfielder Christian Eriksen during the buildup, and the goal was therefore disallowed.

Odegaard insisted in a post-game interview that referee Paul Tierney's decision to disallow the goal was "very, very soft."

Because he did not foul Eriksen, the former Real Madrid player feels that the goal should have stood.

At his post-match press conference, Odegaard said: “In my opinion, it is never a foul. A soft challenge, and for VAR to come in, it has to be clear and obvious.

“Very, very soft. You can make it look worse on camera. Never a foul, the referee said, "Play on.”

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s brace and a strike from Antony gave Erik ten Hag’s side all three points against Arsenal.
