In preparation for the 2023–24 Nigeria National League season, over 40 referees have passed the national fitness test.
The exercise took place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The referees were put through their pace and also underwent an endurance race to keep up with the high demands of the game in the upcoming NNL season.
The program is in line with the plans of the Nigeria Referee Association (NRA), affiliated with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to improve officiating in the country.
The NNL season is expected to kick off on October 28th, 2023.
It will be played in an abridged format of two groups consisting of Southern and Northern Conference.
Forty teams will participate in the NNL in the 2023–24 season.
