Rema, the Prince of Afrobeats, has a new, impressive accomplishment to add to his resume.

In the US, more than 500,000 copies of his 2022 song "Calm Down" have been sold. A song or record can receive a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) if it has sold more than 500,000 copies in the country.

REMA is now the youngest and fastest afrobeats artist to receive BRIT and RIAA certification thanks to his Gold certification. Davido's previous record for the fastest Afrobeats song to receive a gold certification in the US was broken by him with "IF."

Wizkid's previous record for "ESSENCE," the Afrobeats song that achieved gold and platinum certification in the US the quickest, was also broken by Rema.
