Ben Foster of Watford believes Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United is a better player than Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain.
In his never-ending struggle with Messi, Foster feels Ronaldo is "still number one," maintaining that the Portugal captain isn't done yet.
He called Ronaldo an "outstanding specimen" and predicted that he would continue to play for a long time, noting that his record-breaking career puts him slightly ahead of Barcelona legend Lionel Messi in the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) rankings.
"Raise the volume as high as you like." He [Ronaldo] is an outstanding specimen for a 37-year-old. He's still quick. Foster told The Mirror, "He is just one of those that is a natural striker."
For me, in that eternal Messi vs. Ronaldo debate, he is still number one for me.
“I think even this season, people are completely mad that they think he is finished. He’s not finished. Look at how many goals he has scored. That is incredible.
For anybody, that is a fantastic season, but because it is Ronaldo, people expect 30, 40, 50 goals. No – he is playing in a team that is not firing on all cylinders, so you are not going to score that many goals anyway, but for people to say that he is finished, "no chance mate,” he said.
