AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has revealed the reason behind his decision not to start Samuel Chukwueze in Monday’s Serie A encounter against Bologna.
Chukwueze featured for 17 minutes as the Rooseneri started their campaign with a 2-0 win at Bologna.
Former Chelsea stars Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud scored the goals for the former Serie A champions.
Chukwueze joined AC Milan from LaLiga club Villarreal last month.
Pioli claimed the Nigeria international and some of the new signings are not ready to start games for the club at the moment.
“We are playing those who are most ready, who have been working together since July. Chukwueze, Okafor, and Musah only arrived two weeks ago, but I don’t think it will take them long to be at the same level as their teammates,” Pioli told DAZN.
AC Milan will host Torino in their next league game on Saturday.
