Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is confident the team will secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The three-time African champions failed to qualify for the ongoing 2022 Mundial after losing to perennial rivals the Black Stars of Ghana in the playoffs.
Etebo made his debut appearance with the Super Eagles at the global soccer festival four years ago in Russia.
The Aris Thessaloniki of Greece player said he has high hopes of playing in his second World Cup.
“I have had good memories; I was at the last edition in Russia, and I had hope of playing in Qatar, but it was not meant to be,” Etebo told Brila.net.
“It hurts not playing in Qatar, but as a team, we will qualify for the next edition.”
The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America.
