Ryan Bertrand has been added to Manchester United's short list of potential replacements for the injured Luke Shaw.
Bertrand, who has played for Chelsea and Leicester City in the past, is currently unemployed.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of the Red Devils, is looking for a player to replace Shaw in his team.
Shaw's muscular issue will keep him out of the game for a "extended period."
The fullback from England has played in both of United's opening Premier League games for the full 90 minutes.
He will now miss the match against Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday as well as the match against Arsenal the following week.
