Jermaine Jenas, a former player for Newcastle United and Tottenham, has instructed Arsenal to bring in a replacement for Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian midfielder, during the January transfer window.
On Saturday, Arsenal defeated Tottenham in a 3-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium. The two teams are rivals from north London.
The fans of the club named Partey "man of the match" after he assisted on one of Arsenal's goals against Spurs, but Jenas thinks the midfielder is unreliable.
The former Nottingham Forest forward, Jenas, said the Gunners need to strengthen their central midfield options in order to maintain their current form.
“You can’t rely on him,” Jenas said of Partey on Vibe with Five.
“If I was Edu, that would be the first position I’m going for in January, or the summer [transfer window], because you can’t rely on him.”
The victory over Spurs was Arsenal’s seventh win of the season, which kept them atop of the Premier League table with Manchester City breathing down their necks after an emphatic 6-3 win over Manchester United at the weekend.
