Chippa United's co-head coach, Thabo September, has acknowledged the potential departure of goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali from the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Nwabali's stellar performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has sparked interest from several clubs, including Saudi club El-Ettifaq, Sky Bet Championship's Queens Park Rangers, and Kaizer Chiefs.
September candidly admitted that he cannot assure the 27-year-old's continuation with the Chilli Boys beyond this season, stating, "It’s not the right word to use, but of course I think there’s a high possibility of losing him. I don’t think it’s a fear, that’s what the club is about," as he shared with SABC Sport.
Nwabali, who joined Chippa United from Katsina United in 2022, has become a sought-after talent in the footballing world, and his potential departure represents the nature of the sport's dynamic transfer market.
