The football Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.
Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.
Alex Sandro to Chelsea
Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has admitted the Italian champions will not keep Brazilian full-back Alex Sandro at the club against his will. Although the 26-year-old still has three years left on his contract, the Chelsea transfer target could move if the Premier League champions match the £55 million asking price. "A substantial offer has arrived for Alex Sandro," confirmed Marotta on Wednesday. "We have no intention of selling anyone, but if a player decides to leave, as has happened in previous years, then at the end of the day he has to go, because we don't keep anyone against their will."
Raphael Guerreiro to Manchester City
Long linked with a move for Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, Pep Guardiola has a Plan B in Borussia Dortmund's Guerreiro, according to French website Foot Mercato. Impressive since arriving from Lorient last summer, the 23-year-old scored six times and added three assists in 17 Bundesliga starts. However, the Portuguese international was taken off with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury during their win over Russia at the Confederations Cup on Wednesday. If it's as bad as first thought, Guardiola may have to pick out a Plan C.
Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool
Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge believes Southampton's Van Dijk could yet be Anfield bound. Jurgen Klopp is eager for defensive reinforcements but his initial interest in the Southampton man ended abruptly over allegations of tapping up.
Emre Can to Juventus
German midfielder Can has been linked with a move to Juventus according to the Daily Express, but the Liverpool Echo report the Anfield club will not let him leave. Liverpool have already failed to come to an agreement on a new contract, but they are confident they can tie him down over the coming months.
Serge Aurier to Manchester United
Paris Saint-Germain right-back Aurier looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Jose Mourinho will be looking for someone to offer Antonio Valencia competition in the role and back in April, L'Equipe reported Aurier had verbally agreed to join this summer -- the only stumbling block being PSG's reluctance to sell. With the right offer, that issue could be resolved.
