West Ham United are reportedly targeting Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi to bolster their attacking options, according to The Sun.

The Hammers are exploring the possibility of signing the Nigerian international on a loan deal for the remainder of the season. While a permanent transfer is also on the table, Nottingham Forest's £20 million asking price could prove to be a significant hurdle.

With injuries sidelining key attackers Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, and Niclas Fullkrug, West Ham are in urgent need of reinforcements to strengthen their offensive lineup.

Awoniyi, who has struggled for regular game time this season behind Chris Wood in the pecking order, might find a move to London appealing. The 27-year-old forward has managed just one Premier League goal for Forest so far this term.

Interestingly, Awoniyi was linked with a switch to West Ham last summer, and the renewed interest could reignite those transfer talks.
