Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's coach, has explained why his club beat Villarreal 3-2 in the Champions League semi-final second leg tie on Tuesday night in Spain.
Fabinho, Luis Diaz, and Sadio Mane scored three second-half goals to help Liverpool overcome Villarreal in Spain.
In the first half, Villarreal scored two goals through Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin.
And Klopp believes Liverpool upset Unai Emery's team because his players were themselves in the second half of the match.
"We weren't ourselves in the first half," the German stated in his post-match press conference, "but we were ourselves in the second half, and that's why we won the game."
"Yes, of course, Luis, what a goal, and he had a few more situations.
If he takes that on the chest, he can score already. So yeah, top performance. ”
Liverpool will now play the winner of the tie between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28.
