Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea's manager, has explained why his team was unable to upset Manchester United on Thursday night.

At Old Trafford, the Blues were held to a 1-1 tie.

Despite dominating the first half, Tuchel's side did not take the lead until Marcos Alonso scored after the break.

Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, equalized for United just a few minutes later.

"We were quite dominant, we identified the spaces," Tuchel stated after the game. We could have taken advantage of the situation. "I felt we missed something in the final 16 yards of the field that would have allowed us to end it earlier."
