Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane admitted to taking a risk with his starting 11 after seeing his side triumph 5-1 in their Champions League clash with Legia Warsaw on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Lucas Vazquez, Alvaro Morata, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, and an own goal handed Real the win with the visitors grabbing a consolation penalty through Miroslav Radovic.

Still, the Frenchman said his decision to play Asensio and James Rodriguez in a three-man midfield had upset the balance of the team.

"Defensively, the balance of the team was not perfect sometimes. They did not really make chances, but were able to counter-attack easily sometimes. The good thing is that we made many chances to score and scored five goals," said Zidane.

"I am happy with the attacking performances. We played a very offensive XI and that meant more risks."But that was the option taken and we played a bit more attacking today. Sunday will be another game and a different team."

Zidane also praised his three young players after they got on the scoresheet.

"They [Asensio, Morata and Lucas Vazquez] did very well, not just in the game today, but with their work all week," Zidane said. "We will have many games and all players will get chances. But I am happy with what the three up front are doing."

Real are now level on seven points with Borussia Dortmund and face the Germans in Spain on December 7.
