Kanye Omari West, better known as Kanye West or Ye, is an American rapper, record producer, and fashion designer.
He previously held the title of billionaire, but Adidas, a German multinational company, severed ties with him.
This was disclosed in a publication on Tuesday by the American business magazine Forbes.
Given that his lucrative contract with Adidas is over, Forbes claimed that Kanye is no longer eligible for inclusion on its list of billionaires.
Due to the superstar rapper and fashion designer's anti-Semitism, Adidas has ended their partnership.
A number of anti-semitic tirades by West have appeared on his social media accounts in recent weeks.
The rapper shared a screenshot of a text exchange between himself and Diddy in a post that Twitter later removed, in which it appeared that West claimed Combs was under the control of Jews. “Jesus is a Jew." Even though I'm a little tired tonight, when I wake up, I plan to kill three Jews.
His antisemitic comments, however, drew backlash from Jewish celebrities and politicians, as the American Jewish Committee (AJC), in a statement, immediately called out West’s language for perpetuating “antisemitic tropes like greed and control.”
The rhetoric, in no time, mounted public pressure on the companies with whom the rapper has business dealings.
Among the latest brands to sever ties with the West is Adidas, which was said to have conducted a “thorough review” and would immediately stop production of its line of Yeezy products.
Without it, Kanye's multi-year Adidas deal was valued at $1.5 billion, without which he’s worth just $400 million, while the remains of his financial empire are his real estate, cash, music catalogue, and a five percent stake in Skims, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s shapewear firm.
