Some celebrities have mourned the passing of popular gospel artist Sammie Okposo.

The 51-year-old slumped and died on Friday morning.

Reacting to the singer's demise, popular actor Richard Mofe Damijo, AKA RMD, shared a video he made with the late singer about a month ago in the United States on his Instagram page.

He wrote, “This was exactly a month ago in the US. We spent two weeks together and fellowshipped as men. We ate, drank, and teased each other. "We made plans for the new year, yet here I’m struggling and looking for words to capture our relationship.”
“Sam Okpooo, as I used to call you, this was not the plan." This one hurt my heart. My prayers are with your family as you rest in power, peace, and praise.
Also reacting, comedian Bovi prayed that he rest in peace.
He wrote, "Goodnight, Uncle Sam." "The most angelic voice I ever heard.”
Also, Ace presenter and filmmaker Frank Edoho wrote, ”My friend Sammy Okposo has left us with a painful hollow in our hearts." I am saddened because he literally praised and worshipped God all the time. God probably needed that sonorous voice in heaven. Da, Sammy! I will miss you immensely! Rest in Peace.”
