Seyi Law, a comedian best known by his stage name Oluwaseyitan Aletile, has apologized to the opposition parties' members and supporters he offended during his campaign for president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Following the declaration of the All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential candidate as the victor of the election held on Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, this has happened.
The comedian said Nigerians shouldn't grow resentful and hostile toward one another in a post published on his Instagram page on Wednesday in which he expressed his happiness about how passionate people are about their preferred candidates.
“My fellow Nigerians, I’m happy you are as passionate as you are about your preferred candidates. That is the way politics should be. However, hatred and bitterness toward each other shouldn’t have a place between us.
“You might not see things the way I see them. That doesn’t mean I’m right and you're wrong. It just means that we are different. If your candidates had won, I would have prayed and worked for their successes and mine.
“I apologize to those offended by my support. I seriously condemn all the violence across Nigeria. I have mixed feelings about your genuine anger and about my candidate’s winning. "I, however, pray that Nigerians’ lives get better,” he said.
