Exciting news is on the horizon for animation enthusiasts as Disney and Kugali join forces to bring forth a captivating animated TV series titled IWÁJÚ, scheduled for release on the 28th of February.

Set against the backdrop of a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria, IWÁJÚ explores a world filled with technological wonders and cultural richness. The Yoruba term "iwájú," meaning "the future," perfectly encapsulates the essence of this animated adventure. The Yoruba people, a West African ethnic group with roots in Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, add a distinctive cultural flavor to the narrative.

Crafted by the talented writing team of Adeola and Halima Hudson, along with Toluwalakin Olowofoyeko, the story unfolds around Tola, a young islander, and her ingenious companion Kole, a self-taught tech expert. Their unbreakable bond faces a severe test when Bode, a tech pioneer with a hidden criminal underworld, emerges, ruling with an iron fist.

As the eagerly anticipated release date approaches, the star-studded cast behind the animated characters has been unveiled. Nigerian-American actors Dayo Okeniyi and Simisola Gbadamosi, seasoned actor Femi Branch, along with Siji Soetan and British-Nigerian actress Weruche Opia, lend their voices to breathe life into the vibrant characters of IWÁJÚ.

This collaboration between Disney and Kugali promises a visual and narrative feast for audiences, blending cutting-edge animation with rich storytelling. With the convergence of futuristic elements and cultural nuances, IWÁJÚ is poised to offer a unique and immersive viewing experience when it graces screens on February 28th. Prepare to embark on a thrilling journey into the future with this groundbreaking animated series.
