Bayer Leverkusen's head coach, Xabi Alonso, has announced that Victor Boniface has fully recovered from injury and is ready to make his mark on the pitch once again, as reported by NaijaCrawl.
After a three-month absence due to an adductor injury, Boniface returned to action last week, making impactful substitute appearances against Fortuna Dusseldorf and Union Berlin.
Alonso revealed that the 23-year-old forward may earn his first starting spot of the year for Bundesliga leaders in Thursday night’s UEFA Europa League clash against West Ham United.
“Following Adam Hlozek's injury over the weekend, Matej will be in goal. Boniface is fit to start, and he could feature from the kickoff tomorrow,” stated the Spanish manager during a press conference.
With four goals and one assist in five Europa League appearances this season, the Nigerian international has been a key asset for Die Werkself.
