Embattled Nigerian singer Portable has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to intervene in his ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State government.
According to DAILY POST, Portable—who is currently on the run—was arraigned alongside nine associates for allegedly assaulting officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
On Thursday, Magistrate Justice O.M. Somefun granted bail to Portable’s associates at ₦5 million each, requiring sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government. The case has been adjourned to March 17 for hearing.
From his undisclosed location, Portable denied all allegations and pleaded for the release of his detained associates. Meanwhile, his eldest sister, Gbemisola, claimed the singer is under a spiritual spell cast by one of their uncles.
In a viral video on Tuesday, Portable begged President Tinubu to appeal to Governor Dapo Abiodun for mercy.
"President Tinubu, may you never cry over your children. Please help me beg Dapo Abiodun to forgive me. I am a government child, a federal government liability. Please, let the governor see me as one of his own and show mercy."
